The QR code/barcode reading system generated by Bikubo is quite fast from mobile devices (tablets or mobile phones/smartphones). However, in certain environments such as places with low light, or for events that may require even greater speed due to many attendees, we offer the possibility of connecting via Bluetooth a barcode reader gun to Android devices (not for iOS).
An example of a barcode reader gun that you can purchase is the following: https://www.amazon.es/Portable-Bluetooth-Compatible-tel%C3%A9fonos-ordenadores/dp/B01N3QMPSK/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1533625775&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=eyoyo+lector+qR
To connect a barcode reader gun to Android devices, it is necessary to perform the following steps:
-
1. Enable the Bluetooth connection on the Android device.
-
2. Turn on the barcode reader gun, and follow the instructions in the help manual of the barcode reader gun to allow it to be paired via Bluetooth.
-
3. Press on the Android device to search for devices via Bluetooth.
-
4. Once the barcode reader gun is found via Bluetooth on the Android device, click on the icon, and in this way it is already paired.
-
5. In the administrator's intranet, in the 'My Data' section (users/index.html), you must have selected the option 'Enable reading validations via barcode reader gun'.
-
6. Start the Bikubo app, and log in with the app user and password shown in the 'My Data' section.
-
7. If you were already logged in with the user and password, click on the menu button, 'Update menu'.
-
8. Everything is now configured so that it can read through the barcode reader gun, and communicate the readings to the Android device. Select in the app menu, the session you are going to validate, and once selected, scan one by one the tickets/credentials with the barcode reader gun.
-
9. Do not scan two consecutive QR codes/barcodes, until the main app screen is displayed (the one showing the 'Open scanner' button), to allow the app to be listening for data reception from the barcode reader gun.
